Around three hundred and fifty years ago, this style was created – and it has prospered and succeeded under Morikage Kusumi, one of the greatest experts in the Kanoschool of Japanese painting. The key properties of these wares are beautiful design, and the key five colors: green, red, yellow, dark blue, and purple. There is a subtle charm created within the delicate designs, and Kutani’s clever and fun designs have made this type of ware popular across the world.

This sake carafe has been created so that it is perfect for all kinds of sake, even warm sake. The fragrances of sake will vary depending on the type that it is; some have no fragrance at all, whilst others will have a very strong fruity fragrance. Some scents will last but a moment, whereas others will continue on for several days!

Kutani Ware

Kutani ware is a style of Japanese porcelain first established by Goto Saijiro after the mid-seventeenth century. Production of Kutani ware ceased at the end of the 17th century, but commenced again in the 19th century. The porcelain style is known for five colors: red, yellow, green, purple and navy, which are used to paint over dynamic line drawings.
