How to Take Care of Nanbu Tetsu Kyusu (Japanese Cast Iron Teapot)

The Nanbu Tetsu Kyusu (Japanese Cast Iron Teapot) can be used for a long time if it is used properly. The inside of the Teapot is enameled to prevent rusting.

After use, please rinse the inside of the Teapot and the tea strainer well with water or lukewarm water, and wipe them dry completely before putting them away. (The spout, the part where the tea strainer rests, the back of the lid, and the base of the handle are particularly vulnerable to moisture. Please be careful. Leaving water on the surface of the teapot will cause it to rust.)

Please remove water from tea and hot water on the surface of the Teapot based on [Care of the surface of the Teapot]. Leaving the Teapot for an extended period of time (1-2 hours) may cause rust.

If tea stains adhere to the inside of the Teapot after prolonged use, please wash it with a mild detergent using a soft sponge after a while after pouring boiling water into the Teapot.

Precautions for handling

Do not boil water. Do not use an open flame. Do not use over an open flame, as the enamel will peel off if the pot is left unattended.

Do not boil water. The inner surface of the teapot is enameled. When cleaning, do not use metal scrubbing brushes, abrasives, or other items that may scratch the enameled surface.

If the pot is dropped on a hard surface or cooled rapidly, the body of the pot may crack or the handle may come off due to the impact. Please handle with care.

Placing it directly on a table or tray may scratch it or cause black stains, so please be sure to use a Teapot mat.

When not using the Teapot for a long period of time, dry the outside and inside of the Teapot thoroughly before putting it away in a well-ventilated place.

Keep out of reach of children.

As this is a cast iron product, rust may occur if moisture is left in the pot, but iron rust is not harmful to health. Please feel free to use the product as it is.

The product cannot be used in microwave ovens, dishwashers, or dryers.

Not for use in microwave ovens, dishwashers, or dryers. Do not use for purposes other than Teapot (pouring hot water and brewing tea).
