What is Janome?

A white sake glass with an impressive blue double circle. This is called the "Janome" pattern and is suitable for determining the color of sake and is used for sake tasting.

"Janome" refers to a pattern consisting of two large and small rings. The blue color is said to have the effect of enhancing the color of sake. Sake looks transparent at first glance, but it actually has a slightly yellowish color.

Blue, which is the opposite color of yellow, complements that color. "Janome" sake glasses have been used for a long time to see the color and transparency of sake.

Set includes 2 sake cups.

  • Sake glass measures H: 1.55" Diameter: 3.55" Capacity: 2.35 oz.
  • Changes colors with cold liquids (under 62°f)
  • Hand wash only
  • Made in Japan

This truly-unique glass seems simple at first glance, but adding a cold beverage reveals a special surprise. Hand printed by Japanese artisans, each stunning glass is made with a special thermochromic material that changes color when exposed to different temperatures.

  • Cool the pattern first so that it will change colors more clearly in subsequent uses.
  • Hand wash for maximum longevity. Dishwashing is not recommended.
  • Do not expose to direct sunlight expended periods, as the thermochromic material is sensitive to ultraviolet rays.
